On this page we will list our Silvers or Encrusted Saxifrages from the section ligulatae, this group of plants is very important for us Rockgarden lovers, because they flower in a period most of the other alpineplants are already out of flower.

And even without flowers the Silvers are always 'Eyecatchers' with their beautiful rosettes, wich all differ from eachother.  The smaller ones are splendid in a tufhole or 'lined' between stones, especially with crevice gardening!

 'Lincoln Foster'                          'Teckles'

For Silver Saxifraga lovers,we can recommend Beryl Bland's Book 'Silver Saxifrages-A guide to encrusted Saxifrages for Gardeners and Botanists'
